Bars are representative of the total SCFAs, which are the sum of acetic, propionic and butyric acids in the supernatant and the error bars are representative of standard deviation. The experiments were performed three times. A significant difference from the control was indicated as, *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, or ***p < 0.001.
