Fig. 8. Experimental procedure for the pulmonary inflammation and administration of TMEE or dexamethasone (DEX). C57BL/6N mice were divided into four groups (n =6 in each group). The mice were orally administered TMEE (10 mg/kg) or DEX (1 mg/kg) from days 1 to 2. On day 2, the mice were given an intranasal administration of 10 μg LPS in 40 μl PBS 1 h after each corresponding TMEE or DEX administration. On day 3, the mice were sacrificed, and the BALF and lung tissues were harvested. TMEE, Trichilia martiana C. DC ethanol extract; LPS, lipopolysaccharide; BALF, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid; H&E, hematoxylin and eosin.
